OOPS! oh and The Zoo!

This week there seems to be quit a bit of oops going on around our house.
The first one I decided to make a square receiving blanket,. I found some instructions online that looked simple and easy to follow. I went and bought some fabric and followed the instructions, but when I got done I didn't quite have it right. Somehow i did the corners of the blanket wrong and the blanket doesn't lay flat the corners make it lay like a box. It's really weird. I wasn't sure what I did wrong, so I just folded over the edges so it would lay flat and then finished sewing it. It's kid of odd.

The second one was on wednesday evening. Brad, Alex and I went out to dinner then stopped at my mom's to pick up something. We had the windows down, because the air felt nice. Well driving home we noticed a very annoying bug buzzing around in the car. It was very annoying and we couldn't get it to go out the window so brad smack his hand on the windshield and killed it. Well the windshield busted when Brad smacked his hand on it. Yep big GIANT spiderweb crack, pretty much in your field of view. Brad was pissed, because the windshield had cracked and we didn't have to do a safety this year for our registration, which was due in April, so we could have gotten away with it being cracked for quite a bit longer. I just laughed. I was so stupid that you couldn't help but laugh. Brad started to laugh too and it ended up not being to expensive to fix. But really he didn't even hit it that hard!
While Alex and I were waiting for the windshield to get replaced we walked to a nearby Mcdonalds and had lunch and I let Alex play until the car was ready. He had a blast running around with the kids and going down the slide. Although the slide was a bit scary, it had a very tight turn in it and almost dropped you straight down at the very end. There were several little kids that wouldn't go on it again because it was scary.

A couple of weeks ago Brad's mom and I took Alex to the zoo since the weather was suppose to be nice.  He had so much fun looking at all the animals and riding the train of course. He still talks about the mommy and daddy rhino, and the Mommy, Daddy and baby giraffe. Which the giraffe isn't really even a baby any more since it was born last summer.

My attempt at a square receiving blanket. All the corners look like this!

The giant Spiderweb. Yep the smashed bug is still there too. Or was til it was replaced.

Alex being all cute on the way to Mcdonalds

Coming down the slide. It was fast!

At the Zoo, looking at the Monkeys. He looks so adorable in his sunglasses!

The train ride, which was his favorite!

And finally my random Alex moment for the week.

Alex was playing out side the other day and he laid down on the porch so he could see a plane fly overhead. He then started to talk about the clouds to himself. And yes he is picking his nose. It is his new found friend apparently. It's totally gross. I have yet to figure out how to keep his finger out of there!

I love the windshield story. Brad is the incredible hulk in disguise. Your receiving blanket just has more personality now. And I think the nose picking thing is something 90% of kids go through. I think it is hilarious that he just plopped down on the porch like that.

I think the blanket still looks darling, it just adds a little style! Love the windshield story, isn't that how it always happens?
