My friend Ashley started this little thing and I thought I would participate. It's for all the soon to be new moms we know. A Little advice goes a long way!
Must-Haves
1. Recieving Blankets or miracle Blanket- Alex loved to be swaddled and it was the only way I got him to sleep really well from day 2. Day 1 was rough!
2. Boppy- I never really used it for nursing. Alex used it to sleep in the couch, and used it when he was starting to sit up but would fall over. It helped him balance himself so falling over happened less often.
3. Bouncer- It was Alex's favorite! He lived in it more than his swing. Swing or bouncer get at least one of them. The bouncer's are nice because they are fairly compact and you can take them with you to a friend or parents house. They can save the day when you aren't at home.
4. Stroller- this one is a given. But pick one you really like. Try opening and closing them and decide whether you want your car seat to click into your stroller. I did love that my stroller and car seat fit together. It was nice because from car to stroller you didn't wake up your sleeping one. We used it alot when we went on walks too.
5. Good Burp Cloths- I got a bunch of store bought ones out of terry cloth and some carter's cotton ones and they just didn't seem to soak up much especially if your baby projectiles (nice image huh). My FAVORITE ones were one that were made for me out of flannel. I loved those things! They soaked up everything! It was nice to have a couple in your diaper bag for those uh-oh moments!
Well that seems to be my list. Since it has been 2 and a half years since I have had a newborn it's hard for me to remember what was essential. I guess I will be remember when the next one comes!
