October Recap

Last month we were so busy I haven't been able to blog much. I have a few things to blog about.

Three weeks ago we took Alex to the pumpkin patch to pick out his pumpkin. You got a wheel barrel and they had rows and rows of pumkins. You just walked down the any row and picked your pumpkin. We got 3 pretty good sized pumpkins and a little one for alex to carry around for 12 bucks. It was a total deal. They also had these old tractors. Alex loved playing and driving them! They also had a kids corn maze and wagon rides. It was definitely something we will do again.
Two weekends ago we carved pumpkins with all of our friends. Which is always a blast. Alex got to play with Hailey, which I think is his favorite person to play with. They play so well together, they have their moments though, but what kids don't.
Due to halloween fast approaching at this point in the month I had been looking for a specific costume and was having issues finding one. So my mom told me that I should just sew one. I had never sew a garment before so I was a little nervous. Monday before halloween, I went and got the fabric, a pattern, and the rest of the necessities.  I spent the rest of the day cutting out the pattern and some of the fabric. Tuesday, was more cutting. Wednesday I was able to start sewing and finished completely on Thursday. It turned out pretty well for my first time sewing a garment.
Then Last weekend was halloween. Friday night we took Alex to a trunk or treat that Brad's Mom's friend was helping put on. It was nice because Alex kind of got prepared for real trick or treating. Although he threw a GIANT fit while putting his costume on. He did not want to dress up.
The next day was halloween of course. Brad and my dad spent the majority of the morning and early afternoon fixing and re-attaching a truce in our garage. It's nice to have a dad that can show Brad how to do that kind of stuff. Thanks Dad!
That night we took Alex trick or treating with our next door neighbor Tyler. Alex loves Tyler so he followed Ty pretty well, trying to keep up. I think if Ty had not of been there Alex would have lost interest sooner. It took us an hour to go down our street and back up. After we got back Brad and I got ready and went over to Bill and Jandie's house. Everyone dressed up super cute!
We were Toy Story characters. Brad was Woody, I was Bo Peep, and Alex was Buzz Lightyear! Halloweeen was pretty laid back. We had a fun October!

Also, a couple of weeks ago we went to a BBQ at Nick and Ashley's house on a weekday. Jake came to it but Kim didn't because she had parent-teacher conference going on that night. When jake walked in and Kim didn't walk in behind him Alex looked at the door and put his hands up and said  "Where's Kim?". It was the cutest thing!
