So about 2 months ago, Brad and I started looking for new bedroom furniture for Alex. I spent nearly 3 weeks going to every furniture store and looking on ksl. I had been wanting a navy blue bed set and was having a awfully hard time finding one. Until I happened upon one on ksl. The girl was moving and needed to get rid of her son's bedroom set. We got a GREAT deal on it. It was definitely used when we got it. It needed to be touched up a little, so I spent the next 2 weeks spackling, completely repainting (i went and got some paint matched), and re-distressing the furniture. I absolutely loved how it turned out and now it has so much more meaning for me because I spent time making it "Alex's". I also made the quilt and pillow sham on his bed. I just love how they turned out. Thank you Kim for helping me decided and pick the fabric. It turned out so adorable!
This weekend we finally got around to putting his big boy room together. He has been taking naps in his bed for about 2 weeks, but his mattress has been on the floor. He loves his big boy bed and asks me every night if he gets to sleep in it. We don't have his guard rails yet (so he doesn't fall out), but as soon as we get them he will officially be a "big boy". I still can not believe he is to this stage yet. I know I keep saying it, but i really do not know where the last 2 years have gone. I miss him when we used to cuddle and fall asleep on my chest. Now he is too busy to even sit next to me. Even as I am writing this, he took off his pajama pants and brought them to me, and I can hear him running from on side of the house to the next! And just now he was been being wild, jumping on the furniture, as Brad is telling him not to he fell backwards over the arm of the couch and hit his head on the hardwood floor. He is alright, but he is WILD!!!
In the midst of refurbishing
The drawers to the dresser
This was the worst piece. It's a little entertainment center. This had a lot of dings and scratches and was the main reason I decided to repaint every piece.
Alex helping daddy put together his bed
Finally his room!
His little entertainment center. Don't mind how much junk he has.
His dresser, It is missing a few knobs. I bought new ones and didn't buy enough.
Alex sitting on his put together bed. He loves his bed. Also a closer look at his quilt.
These next few picture are just random ones from the last couple of weeks.
Alex has a recent obsession with wearing Brad and I's shoes. Also he loves wearing our sunglasses. Also he had just gotten up from a nap that is why is in only a onsie.
Eating tomato soup. It is his new favorite!
Brad, Alex and the dogs shoveling gravel. I didn't realize when I took this picture Alex was picking his nose, if i had i would have waited til he was done. It's also a new "thing". (acutally he might have just been chewing his finger, he does that alot too.)

That turned out so good Carly, great job! The quilt is so cute! I need to get me a sewing machine so you can teach me how to make things like that!
It looks great! I love that he likes his big boy bed. The quilt you did is super cute. Good work :)
Carly the bed set and the quilt you made turned out so cute. I can't believe you found that on KSL, it is seriously so cute. Love the picture of Alex with Brad's shoes on, boy does that seem familiar! Hope you guys are doing well!
