So I have been saying that I was going to get rid of Alex's Binki for almost a year now. And well, we have finally done it. He has been without his binki for 5 nights and 3 naptimes. He still asks me every night "Mommy go find bi?", I tell him i will go find it but he has to go to sleep, and manages to fall asleep without it.
I would say it's a little bittersweet for me. I am happy that it wasn't nearly as hard to get rid of it than I thought it was going to be, but it's the last shred of evidence that Alex was ever a baby. I didn't really care that he had it since for the last 6-8 months he has only been allowed to have it at naptime and bedtime, and gave it to Brad every morning with no fight. I have so many memories of his binki from his first one at the hospital, NEVER being able to leave the house without one, to using it as a bribe to be good at restaurants. But I guess in the end it had to go sometime. It just seems the last 2 1/2 years are becoming a blur, time just seems to get away from me.
Home from the hospital with his Binki
October 2008. 3 binkis. He was very happy!
The most recent picture with his Binki. July 2009 going camping. I was trying to bribe him to take a nap in the car, it didn't work as you can see.

Yay! Way to go little Al!
Oh I can only hope that Lydia will give up her binky as easily, I swear that girl is obsessed. Way to go ALEX!
Totally the same way. Milo only gets it at sleepy time and in the car or restaurants but I'm dreading taking it away. She's still my baby!
